The Book of UJU

Divorce - In the
Eyes of God

THE THIRD MESSAGE OF UJU ACCORDING
TO THE SCRIPTURE TO

CHRISTENDOM

A message from Uju a servant of Christ Jesus by the grace of God through Christ Jesus, according to the word in the scripture,

2. To CHRISTENDOM; glory and honor be unto LORD God Almighty and Christ Jesus our Lord savior forever and ever. Amen.

3. According to Amos 7.14-15:

“Then Amos answered Amaziah, I am no prophet, nor a prophet’s son; but I am a herdsman, and a  dresser of sycamore trees, and the LORD took me from following the flock, and the LORD said to me, “Go prophesy to my people Israel.”

4. So am I, Uju, a worker of art by trade; the Word of God, the Spirit of God, in the name of Christ Jesus appeared to me in a flame of fire from the Scripture; and I immediately prophesied saying, “Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand” to people of the world.

5. I am no pastor, evangelist, prophet nor an apostle, but by the grace and mercy of God the father of Christ Jesus, I am writing this message to Christendom according to the scripture.

  DIVORCE

In the Eyes of God

6. And Pharisees came up to Jesus and tested him by asking,

“Is it lawful to divorce one’s wife for any cause?”

7. Jesus answered them saying,

“Have you not read that he who made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? So, they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.”

8. The Pharisees said to him,

“Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?”

9. Jesus said to them,

“For your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for unchastity, and marries another, commits adultery.”

10. From the drama that played out between the Pharisees and Jesus, it is evident that there is no room for divorce in a marriage ordained by God.

11. For reason the disciples of Jesus said to him,

“If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is not expedient to marry.”

12. But Jesus said to them,

“Not all men can receive this saying, but only those to whom it is given.”

13. Going by this phrase: ‘but only those to whom it is given’ indicates that it is for those who God has given the grace – the Spirit of God, to live a marriage life devoid of divorce: for those marriages sanctified by God through Jesus Christ sealed by the Holy Spirit can never experience divorce despite the challenges in the marriage.

14. The hardness of heart that led men to divorce their wives as allowed by Moses is evil. A hardened heart is a disobedient heart.

15. In such situation the Lord reminded them that from the beginning in no circumstances divorce was part of God’s plan in a marriage. In the face of unchastity allowing you to divorce, you should forgive or remain single or reconcile with your spouse.

16. By implication, you can divorce, but have to remain single in the Lord or reconcile with your spouse.

High Rate of Divorce Today!

17. Divorce has been from time past more especially among the hard hearted – disobedient hearts, and those who willfully do not have the fear of God. There is glaring increasing rate of divorce in the world today amongst those who do not have the fear of God at all, and amid those who claim to be disciples of God especially the acclaimed men and women of God!

18. Are we in the times of stress, as prophesied by the scripture? Yes, we are!

19. According to 2Tim 3:1-5, the scripture says,

“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of stress. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, inhuman, implacable, slanderers, profligates, fierce, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding the form of religion but denying the power of it. Avoid such people.”

20. It is evident that the root cause of lawlessness today is as stated above. This has led to the alarming high rate of divorce in the world today. The baffling incident of this evil activity is practiced and supported by some men and women who claimed to be faithful ministers of the Lord.

21. And these false men and women of God are founders, owners and leaders of some notable religious establishments, who weld great influence on their members.

22. The unbelievable aspect of this sinful orientation, is that the members of these idolatrous religious organizations see them as role models, and as such are influenced, and therefore follow sheepishly their wicked ways knowingly and unknowingly.

23. These wicked perceived religious role models: false ministers of God, are the ones that wed them in marriage as singles, and at same time wed them again as divorcees to new husbands and wives. What an abomination! They have therefore singlehandedly destroyed the concept of a holy marriage as set by the Lord.

24. The most agonizing characteristic of the unholy act is that these wicked false ministers of God know God’s commandment that those who do such things deserve the wrath of God, they not only do them but approve those who indulge in it.

“I hate Divorce.” says LORD GOD
Mal. 2:16

25. Whatever God hates is evil.

26. The lord reiterated that whatever God has joined in holy marriage no man shall put asunder.

27. The most significant commanded role of the Lord in holy marriages concerning divorce is as stated in 1 Cor.7:10-11,

“To the married I gave charge, not I but the Lord, that the wife should not separate from her husband (but if she does, let her remain single or else be reconciled to her husband) – and that the husband should not divorce his wife.”

28. The above specified is the most important commandment of the Lord in marriages giving indispensable conditions of living in marriage in relation to divorce.

29. By implication, there should be no room for divorce; but in event of divorce the wife should remain single or be reconciled to her husband. And the husband should not divorce his wife.

30. The Lord as a result suggested that you could divorce, but should stay single in the Lord, or reconcile with each other. And the husband should not divorce his wife.

31. In another circumstances suggesting the evil associated with divorce is as written in Luke 16:18, the Lord said,

“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.”

32. This singular statement of the Lord consolidates what God says about divorce in Mal 2:16, “For I hate divorce,”

33. Wow! For whatever God hates is a grievous evil.

34. In the eyes of God, you are still bound to your spouse irrespective of divorce in as much one is living, as written in 1 Cor 7:39,

“A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. If the husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.”

35. In the eyes of God, marriage is only annulled in death, and not in divorce. This is reinstated as written in Luke 16:18,

“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.”

36. The Lord as a result suggests that you could divorce, but should stay single in the Lord, or reconcile with each other. And the husband should not divorce his wife.

NOTE: Marriage is a covenant between husband and wife and God: it is a divine covenant because of the involvement of God. Any divine covenant is preceded by a sacrifice, ratified by the shedding of blood; for the scripture says in Heb.9:2,

“Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.” Such is the case in all divine covenants, like in the 1st covenant, involving the blood of animals; the 2nd covenant involving the blood of the Lord; God’s covenant with Abraham involving the supposedly blood of Isaac, for in the heart of Abraham, Isaac was dead, before God intervened with an animal. Is the same situation involving marriage as a covenant between husband and wife and God: it must end in the dead of any of the spouses for annulment of the marriage before God. For the vow testifies that until death do us part or remain forever together as life permits. Therefore, the annulment of marriage before God does take place in divorce, but in the death of the husband or the wife, genuinely. The life of the living is in the blood; anything that brings about death is preceded by shedding of blood – the ultimate sacrifice, without which the sacrifice is not justified. The sacrifice of divorce is null and void in marriage before God. And there must be death of any of the spouses to vindicate dissolution of marriage before God, and must be sincere – in all case by natural occurrence, and not by an act of any man. You are living in adultery if you divorce your husband or your wife by virtue of the law of man, and go and marry another husband or wife, when you two are still living. This is the serious situation of exchanging marriage vows. You have to be very careful before entering into marriage. You would rather remain single in the Lord, than to lead a divorce life in the marriage of another. The only condition allowed by God in case divorce is inevitable, is to remain single in the Lord after the divorce or reconcile with each other as husband and wife again.

37. May the Lord grant you the grace to follow the holy process leading to a holy marriage, and also give you the grace to overcome the challenges faced in every marriage that might lead to divorce. Amen!
